In the rustic surrounds of an original apple shed built in 1942, learn about the Huon’s fascinating apple heritage told through the eyes of Willie Smith. A range of delicious ciders is available at the cellar door and the café serves a simple menu of the finest regional products. The Apple Shed believes the best tasting food is local, seasonal and sustainable. They work with passionate farmers who, like them, understand that good things take time and great tasting products come from using great quality ingredients. You’ll also find a small providore where local producers showcase their products and produce.

get shucked bruny island oysters - bruny island
Get Shucked began in 2004 when lease 204 in Great Bay was purchased by Bruny Island resident Joe Bennett. The lease was one the original oyster farms on Bruny Island back in the 70s. Get Shucked produces Pacific oysters year round and supplies some of Australia's top restaurants. In 2013 Joe and partner Nicole opened a fully-licensed oyster bar overlooking the farm, where you can see all the live harvesting, grading and your oysters being shucked. Natural, Kilpatrick, panko crumbed, steamed oriental, oyster paté and more. There is also a range of local sparkling, beer, wine and cider.

grandvewe cheeses - birchs bay
You'll find Grandvewe Cheeses about 45 minutes' drive out of Hobart. And do the sheep have a view! Here you can meet 'the girls' (as the sheep are fondly known), taste up to 15 different cheeses and enjoy a wine while viewing the whole process of cheese making and maturing. Grandvewe Cheeses is Australia's only certified organic sheep dairy, producing hand crafted cheeses, gelato and yoghurt. nutpatch nougat - kettering
Blink and you could easily miss a sign leading you to Nutpatch Nougat in Kettering, but what a shame that would be if you did! Each Nutpatch product is carefully hand-made as part of a small batch, including hazelnut and almond nougat, soft-center chocolates (Amores), and hazelnut creme. The Nutpatch Hazelnut Orchard is situated thirty minutes south of Hobart and has over thirty different varieties selected from the USA, Italy, Turkey, France and England. Nutpatch Nougat is made with only the highest quality ingredients. We pride ourselves in adding no less than 60% freshly roasted hazelnuts, only the freshest of eggs and pure Tasmanian honey sourced locally.

the bruny island berry farm - bruny island
The Bruny Island Berry Farm is located at Woodleigh, a 12-hectare beachfront property at Adventure Bay on South Bruny Island. Pick your own berries, enjoy delicious berry-based ice-creams, savour our pancakes or scones jam and cream with a real coffee from the happy staff. Indulge yourself with a strawberry champagne or a local wine. Relax and enjoy a barbecue or picnic, while you watch and listen for the local birds. Walk on the nearby beach or along the creek banks and exercise your photography skills or browse in our gift shop. Bruny Island can be accessed via a ferry departing from Kettering, which is about 40 minutes south of Hobart.
