The Islington is a boutique hotel with 11 beautifully-appointed suites, situated in South Hobart only five minutes’ drive from the Hobart CBD. This is a very special, small, luxe hotel with a long history and a large, delightful garden, affording unique and stunning views of kunanyi/ Mount Wellington. Built in Regency style in 1847, it was one of the first houses in the dress circle of Hobart and earned its current name around 1899; Davey Street was formerly known as Holebrook Place, an exclusive address in the class-conscious Hobart town of the period.
Following this extensive refurbishment, the property began operations as a boutique hotel in December 2005. The Islington has developed over time into a truly luxurious lodge where guests can relax and unwind among the beauty of the property, immerse themselves in the stunning collection of artwork, taste some of Tasmania’s finest produce and be looked after in the warm, friendly atmosphere of a home away from home.
