The Tailored Tasmania brand incorporates a website full to the brim on where to eat, play, shop and stay along with bookable activities, supported by a hard-cover coffee-table book. Tailored Tasmania is your launch pad for exploring the island like a local - our curated content offering tourist trails less travelled. It was founded in 2012 by local travel writer and author Alice Hansen.
TAILORED TASMANIA WEBSITE
Tailored Tasmania has become a trusted voice on the latest eateries, destinations and places to rest your head across Tasmania. Since market launch in 2012, the site’s handpicked secrets have been used to design itineraries, for on-ground tips and to find out what’s new. With booking capability for everything from whisky tours and cruises to the Southern Ocean’s edge to multi-day walks and boutique accommodation, the site is designed as a one-stop discovery platform. We know Tassie well and have discovered gems the locals love to share with you.
THE BOOK
Building on the website success, a hardcover book launched in December 2014, and a second edition in December 2016. Thousands of copies have sold. The publication is used by Tourism Tasmania, RACT, University of Tasmania and other prominent businesses to promote Tasmania. Following a national tour, the book is available Australia-wide and online here.
According to former Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman, “Tailored Tasmania provides a unique way for visitors to unlock and enjoy the secrets of Australia’s most authentic and engaging destination; Tasmania. As a memento, gift or holiday guide, Tailored Tasmania has proven a real hit and I hope many more visitors have the chance to discover Tasmania with their very own copy.”
For us, Tailored Tasmania is personal. We absolutely love Tasmania. We travelled the country in 2015 talking about the island and each Saturday we do the same at Salamanca Market. We want you to love this place as much as we do. We think you will.
