GHOST ROCK VINEYARD

Ghost Rock is a family-owned food and wine business nestled among the rolling hills on the central north coast. The Arnold family were pioneers of the region, so much so that they were once told they were mad to plant vines in the north! Today, the area is home to a labyrinth of local producers of wine, honey, chocolate, salmon and cheese.

If you are arriving into the north via the Spirit of Tasmania, head east towards Port Sorell. It only takes a few minutes before the port is behind you, the landscape opens up and those rolling green hills come into sight. As you wind your way towards the coast, you’ll see the expansive ocean in the distance and immediately feel a sense of calm. The hour drive from Launceston takes you on a similar journey, with an abundance of scenery along the way that is just so unique to Tasmania. Whatever road you take, arriving at Ghost Rock is a welcome reward for those travelling around the north.

The Cellar Door and Eatery overlook the original vineyard, with striking views of Bass Strait. You can taste through a variety of cool-climate wines across both the Ghost Rock and Supernatural ranges. The modern bistro focuses on local artisan produce, featuring the very best ingredients local producers and makers have to offer. The menu changes seasonally, taking inspiration from what thrives in the fertile soils.

If you’re looking for a base from which to explore the north, there’s the perfect accommodation on site. The Vineyard House is a stunning three-bedroom home. It’s a serene sanctuary, with open plan living, kitchen and dining all connected to the outdoors – a great space for gathering with friends and family. Each bedroom is fitted out with comfortable and luxurious bedding so you can really sink in and relax. There are two queen rooms and the main suite has a king bed, views of the vineyard and an ensuite with a bath. After a day on the coast, unwind with cheese on the deck or curl up in a cosy corner with a good book. If you’re spending a day closer to home, wander over to The Eatery for the full Ghost Rock experience!
