AGRARIAN KITCHEN - LACHLAN
The Agrarian Kitchen is a sustainable farm-based cooking school offering paddock-to-plate cooking experiences in a 19th century schoolhouse at Lachlan, 45 minutes from Hobart in Tasmania’s Derwent Valley. It was established in 2008 by Rodney Dunn and his wife Severine Demanet. Set on five acres, The Agrarian Kitchen is a working farm and incorporates an extensive vegetable garden, orchard, berry patch and herb garden, all grown using organic principles. Also in residence are Berkshire pigs, Barnevelder chickens, milking goats, a flock of geese and honey bees. During their cooking experiences, guests harvest produce from the garden before returning to the kitchen to cook and eat.

HERBACEOUS TOURS
If you like the idea of walking straight through the farm gate and meeting Tasmanian makers, farmers and producers, Sally of Herbaceous Tours is your lady. Most places visited are working farms where producers normally don’t cater for tourists. This is what makes a day with Sally so special, accessing behind-the-scenes spaces no visitor can see on their own. Choose from a day brimming with fresh produce and perhaps a whisky poured direct by the Master Distiller, or take an overnight extended tour. Wherever you are in the state, let Sally connect you with the best of our food and drink producers.
