Luke is a Tasmanian landscape photographer specialising in fine art photo prints and small group tours. He has been photographing Tasmania’s wonderful natural environment for more than two decades and has a large body of work including landscapes, seascapes, macro and the night sky – including the Southern Lights, or Aurora Australis.
Luke’s workshops are small group experiences, with a maximum of six guests. Private workshops are available for anyone wanting some personalised tuition in some of Tasmania’s most stunning landscapes. Everyone from complete beginners through to experienced photographers are welcome. The small-group nature of the tour allows plenty of personalised tuition time for beginners; advanced shooters will benefit from Luke’s local knowledge of great scenic locations. Luke’s photography tours and workshops have been developed to enable you to experience Tasmania’s best photographic destinations and subject matter:

The digital age has made photography a much more accessible pursuit, but has not changed the spirit of landscape and wilderness photography, which ultimately requires the photographer to invest his or her own time and effort in order to accomplish meaningful photographic works. I hope that my images share my sense of awe at the colour, movement and drama which pulsates throughout our natural world, freely visible to any and all who may choose to seek it out. I further hope that my work can inspire motivation for conserving, appreciating and understanding our natural world. The more time I spend in Tasmania’s wild and natural places the more grateful I am to live in such a place and to make a living doing something which means so much to me." – Luke O’Brien |
