With humble beginnings in a tiny store in Penguin in 2010, Nest was a much-loved chocolate box filled with artisan-made treasures and eclectic gifts. After a three-year hiatus, Nest is back! Now located in the bustling seaside town of Ulverstone, the store is now much larger, but the essence of the original Nest is still very much alive.
The building itself had been a motor mechanic’s for 40 years. This very cool industrial space has now been meticulously cleaned and lovingly renovated by its amazing owners to create the perfect home for the new Nest on Risby. The much bigger location has allowed them to expand in all areas of homewares, clothing, and all-round beautiful things! The vastexpanse makes this gorgeous boutique both wheelchair and pram friendly. Owner Natalie has had an extensive career in retail and styling, not only creating her own business but also working in other beautiful homewares stores. The recipe behind Nest is simple: a little something for everybody. It makes this delightful space a one-stop shop for all your home, self and gift-giving needs for man, woman and child. Products are mindfully chosen, mostly hand-picked and carefully curated, as Natalie loves to create a story between the lines. She also delights in discovering new designers and artists. “This space is more than just a store to me,” says Natalie. “This is my love and I wish for it to be felt as an experience. I feel passionate about sourcing and supporting up-and-coming artists, small family-run businesses and makers. In turn, alongside more trend-orientated mainstream brands, it assists me in creating an atmosphere that is both interesting and unique. My greatest joy is for people to come into Nest and see something different. In a world ruled now by online shopping, the inspiration a bricks-and-mortar store brings is something I feel is very important. I know I am not alone in believing that people still enjoy the sensory experience of coming into a store, seeing, smelling and touching beautiful wares.” Visit them at 3a Risby Street, Ulverstone or find them on social media 0427 565 795 Open 10am – 5pm Monday to Friday, 10am – 3pm Saturday |
