Award-winning cruises and full-day tours Pennicott Wilderness Journeys is a family business started by Rob Pennicott in 1999 with a single journey taking in Bruny Island. Today, they operate six signature experiences in south-east Tasmania, highlighting the spectacular and unique wilderness and wildlife of the region. Over its 25-year history, Pennicott Wilderness Journeys has become a highly acclaimed environmental tourism operator and has won 31 Tasmanian Tourism Awards and 14 Australian Tourism Awards. Pennicott Wilderness Journeys is 100% carbon offset and an Advanced Ecotourism Certified operator. The family is dedicated to operating in harmony with the environment and local communities. They employ and train local staff, and purchase goods and services from local suppliers wherever possible. Driven by a desire to share their success and give back to the environment and community that has always supported them, they established the Pennicott Foundation as a flagship for important philanthropic activities. A portion of each cruise ticket goes towards the Foundation. In 2011, Rob circumnavigated Australia in a 5.4-metre inflatable dinghy, raising $300,000 for conservation and to assist Rotary’s efforts to eradicate polio. Other projects the Foundation has contributed to include eradicating feral cats from Tasman Island and rats from Big Green Island. Since the successful eradications, over 100,000 breeding seabirds are saved each year. Last year they supported 460 organisations and community projects. They thank every guest for their support and hope everyone enjoys an experience of a lifetime. Bruny Island Cruises Explore the awesome rugged coastline of South Bruny National Park.
