THE BOOK (next edition due out late 2021)
Building on the website success, three hardcover books launched in December of 2014, 2016 and 2018. According to Hon. Will Hodgman, “Tailored Tasmania provides a unique way for visitors to unlock and enjoy the secrets of Australia’s most authentic and engaging destination; Tasmania. As a memento, gift or holiday guide, Tailored Tasmania has proven a real hit and I hope many more visitors have the chance to discover Tasmania with their very own copy."
Thousands of copies have sold - we know visitors want to hear about businesses like yours in a personal, curated way. Tourism Tasmania, RACT and UTAS, among other large organisations, have chosen the Tailored Tasmania book to promote our state.
WHY WORK WITH US?
What sets Tailored Tasmania apart is the rich, bespoke content that followers have come to trust. Since launching, the website and social media presence has enjoyed rapid growth, indicating people want to hear about businesses like yours in a personal, first-hand way. We are local and we're passionate about Tasmania - in short - we care about local business and believe visitors to Tasmania should experience our very best.
WHAT DO I GET?
As a business, you get exposure on a website with 57,000+ unique annual visitors and access to 21,000+ social media followers. You get on-ground local assistance and a professional tourism writer to craft your words. We have a permanent presence at Salamanca Market, at Hobart International Airport, Spirit of Tasmania, in hotel rooms, and in bookstores nationwide. The book drives traffic back to our online presence and strengthens the brand. We have also promoted Tailored Tasmania in other ways, including via Facebook advertising, our national book tour, the State Cinema and more. We continue to develop new partnerships.
Why are we well positioned to help? Because we've been talking up Tassie for years. Yes, we talk to the world but we also know how to speak to the locals. We've been at Salamanca some 15 years, sharing books with as many locals as we have signed them for well-travelled Londoners. We've written for RACT magazine readers and Sunday Tasmanian readers just as much as national and international publications over the years. We can tailor something just right for your business and share you with our 21,000+ social followers. We'll listen. We'll visit. We'll sit with you. And we'll gather the best skills at a Covid-friendly rate to help get you through. Mainly because we love this place.

A FINAL NOTE
How do we move forward? We say, by working together and supporting each other. It's how we've always done it as Tasmanians. We live on an island - that comes with a good dose of self reliance but also by working as a collective. More than ever we need connection. Local connection and support of one another. It's good for business. But it's also good as fellow human beings in un-chartered times.
We share the despair of closed doors to Tassie, but we've flipped that on its head. We're actually now excited about the prospect of this time. We can't change it, so let's embrace it. As founder, I've been wandering this island for years writing stories about the people, the places, the ventures, the dreams that make this island what it is. I see this moment as a grand opportunity. Why? Because it's like the clock has been turned back. For a brief moment in time we Tasmanians have the island to ourselves. Let's make the most of it and discover our backyard that is loved the world over. We don't have to line up to look at our own Dove Lake. Traffic is back to being wombats on a walking trail. Like you, I can't wait to welcome back visitors but for now lets celebrate our home, embrace it and share it with locals. This is good news for your business, even if Tasmanians are not your target market. If you can attract those locals, they'll become your advocates forever more ... and will be telling those mainlanders and international mates about you for when the borders reopen. It may not be good for the bank, but you'll be banking genuine fans that'll become gold. We can make the most of this.
