They’re new, semi-new and some haven’t even opened their doors. We’re here to tell you all about them...we know there's more than 15 but here's a list to get you started. 1. GLAETZER-DIXON FAMILY WINEMAKERS CELLAR DOOR We've heard whispers for a while and have now had an official sneak peak at wine maker Nick Glaetzer's new urban set up. It's currently open weekends 11am-5pm and by appointment. How smooth does this space look? It's well fitting for a man whose wine making heritage goes back to 1888 in the Barossa Valley. Named Young Winemaker of the Year by Gourmet Wine Traveller Magazine in 2011, look out what's next in store for this award-winning winemaker. Head to @glaetzer_dixon on Instagram or Glaetzer-Dixon Family Winemakers on Facebook to find out more. 93 Brooker Ave (old Eski ice building). 2. T-BONE BREWING CO. You may have enjoyed their hand-crafted brews at the Hobart Twilight Market or other local events. Well good news for those who enjoy the finest ingredients brewed in T-bone small batches….later this year they’ll open brewery doors in Elizabeth Street! www.tbonebrewing.com.au 3. WILD PEDDER What happens when two young guides join forces and decide to create their own Tasmanian multi-day experience? You get Wild Pedder, four days of south west wilderness wandering with Cody and Lou, a charismatic duo who know the bush as well as they know how to pour a fine Pinot. They’re an environmental scientist/geographer and surfboard riding Engineer respectively when not up mountains. www.wildpedder.com.au 4. MID-TOWN Yes, there's such a thing as mid-town now in Hobart. Just ask those in the know. There's Quartermasters Arms with its share-food style, The Stagg for your morning coffee (who knew you can get a delicious coffee for $3 in Hobart?) Plus there’s yummy treats like Quake cookies and gluten-free brownies. Oh and if you need a hair chop, head next door to the ever so stylish Monks & Co. Also on the strip you'll find gorgeous Lily & Dot, Kaiju Can Bar and more to come. Surely something else has opened since writing this sentence...a little further up are Sons of Baja (in former Elizabeth Street Food and Wine) along with Cycle Viet Street Food. Elizabeth St, Hobart 5. A TINY PLACE There’s nothing quite like asking for a hot chocolate on a bitterly cold winter’s day and being told in a thick accent, “Ah no, you need a special Parisian hot chocolate.” Turns out he was right. At A Tiny Place, you’ll find former executive chef of MONA’s The Source, Phillippe Leban, and a set menu championing producers he knows by name. From Sydney to France to Japan….you’ll now find Leban in Battery Point. 20 Francis Street, Battery Point 6. HOBART BREWING CO. Not as shiny brand new as some others here, but the Hobart Brewing Co. have used this time to drum up a loyal following since opening towards the end of 2015. If you didn’t catch them while exploring Dark Park, venture down to the Red Shed at Macquarie Point where you’ll find their taproom often surrounded with live music, food trucks, independent local beer, and all-round happy vibes. 16 Evans St, Hobart 7. HEARTH PIZZA AND SMALL PLATES Monty’s on Montpelier has transformed into Hearth, a delicious small plate and wood-fired pizza transition under the same owners. Under the same cosy roof, expect craft beers and winter warmers like macaroni cheese with Pyengana cheddar, shaved truffle and panko. The takeaway pizzas are also inventive – grilled zucchini, roast garlic, artichoke and goat feta kind of deliciousness. 37 Montpelier Retreat, Battery Point 8. HELLFIRE BLUFF It’s a hell fire good name for a super-premium vodka. The distillery looks over Hellfire Bluff, down Marion Bay way, home to the Falls Festival. From a field of taters to a shiny top shelf bottle, Hellfire Bluff created hell-raising fun at Dark Mofo but if you can’t wait for another event, hop online to order your own bottle. www.hellfirebluff.com.au 9. HOBART CAT CAFÉ Yes, there is a cat café in Hobart. Yes, the felines will curl up beside you on the couch or weave between the table legs while you sip morning coffee. They’re each been carefully hand-picked so you can be assured they won’t steal your bacon or interrupt you mid-sentence. 269 Elizabeth St 10. FRENCHMAN’S RIVER

Plus they're right by the rivulet, perfect for an after-lunch stroll. 40 Molle St 13. GOLDEN PANTHER ESPRESSO Stylish name, fine interior and spot on Van Diemen coffee. Let's say no more.
