Hobart’s top-shelf floating restaurant, Aløft is Tasmania’s latest dining destination – floating brightly in Brooke Street Pier’s loft space. There’s a relationship between nature, quality produce and cultural history at play here. With front-row seats to arguably Hobart’s finest water views and a menu celebrating Tasmania’s shifting seasonal best, Aløft is home to chefs who formerly rubbed shoulders at Melbourne’s Taxi Dining Room. Whether line-caught seafood or locally gathered small-farm herbs, the focus here is on exceptional Tasmanian produce with a broader pan-Pacific flavour. It doesn’t get better than a pinot and shared tasting plates at this ‘place in the sky’.
