When you explore Cradle Mountain look for this little hidden gem just 30 seconds off the road. The Wilderness Gallery at Cradle Mountain Hotel is open to all visitors and has recently been re-opened. The gallery is a spectacular showcase of Tasmanian art and features the all new The Tiger Room- combining history, storytelling and original artworks about the Tasmanian Tiger. Curator Kylie Eastley said the redevelopment took eight-months to complete. “In designing the gallery, we wanted to provide a range of experiences for people from all cultures and of all ages,” she said. “So many artists have been part of the transformation, including Jon Kudelka and Sara and Dan Kershaw who brought their passion and originality to the spaces.” Ms Eastley said the redevelopment included thousands of hours work and enormous generosity by Tasmanian artists. Altitude Restaurant + Lounge Bar at Cradle Mountain Hotel is open for all-day dining, with beautiful views into the surrounding alpine woodland. It now features a new modern show kitchen. If you’re staying overnight at Cradle Mountain, don’t miss the signature ‘Mountain Rock Experience’, a hot-stone grill featuring the finest local ingredients. The Wilderness Gallery and Cradle Mountain Hotel are open seven days a week and free public WiFi is available to all visitors.
