Ghost Rock is a family-owned business located on the central north coast of Tasmania, 15 minutes from Devonport and an hour from Launceston. The region has come along in leaps and bounds, both as a wine region and food tourism destination. The area is home to a labyrinth of local producers crafting just about everything from honey to chocolate, cheese, salmon, cider and wine. Ghost Rock’s cellar door overlooks their vineyard, with striking views of Bass Strait and the rolling patchwork of surrounding hills. They offer free tastings of their award-winning cool-climate premium wines, and light lunches with a focus on local artisan produce featuring the very best ingredients that northern Tasmania has to offer. The wines are exclusively grown, vinified and bottled on site, fuelled by the sort of obsession that comes only from being a regional pioneer.
The new constructed winery also houses Hundred Acres @ Ghost Rock, a cooking school and events space created to provide visitors with a unique food and wine experience. Hundred Acres @ Ghost Rock takes the matching of food and wine to a deeper level, with hands-on cooking classes, wine workshops and foodie events taking people on the journey from soil to bottle, paddock to plate.
