Lark Distillery was established in 1992 as the first licensed distillery in Tasmania since 1839. It was established to produce Tasmanian single malt whisky, rich in character with a big finish using the finest Tasmanian ingredients. Lark Distillery is very proudly a boutique distillery dedicated to maintaining its proven high-quality single malt whisky and other unique Tasmanian spirits.

Situated on the Hobart waterfront, Lark Whisky Bar offers visitors the opportunity to taste Tasmania’s finest whisky and other distilled spirits in a warm and inviting atmosphere. From one of the best selections of whisky in Hobart to great coffees, local beers, and Tasmanian cheese platters, the eclectic bar is a mecca for locals and visitors alike.

Lark offers a variety of experiences to suit your time availability. From a guided tasting at the Whisky Bar & Cellar Door to an afternoon immersion in the art and craft of single malt whisky production with one of their knowledgeable tour guides and hands-on distillers, visitors can choose the experience which best suits their needs.

Lark Distillery tour
Monday – Saturday, 1.30pm – 4.30pm
The tour commences at the Lark Whisky Bar & Cellar Door in Hobart for a brief welcome, a whisky, and a look at the history of the distillery. Guests then travel to the distillery in the Coal River Valley for a first-hand look at the production process and are there to witness the science, art and passion that goes into making every bottle of Lark Single Malt Whisky, before enjoying a tasting of the Lark range surrounded by future releases in the bond store.
